February Nature Meditation
February Nature Meditation Monday, February 26, 2024, 11am-12pm at Old Field Preserve
Unlock the restorative and therapeutic benefits of a mindful nature connection.
Immerse yourself in the calm of nature and start your week with a guided walk that will include a seated meditation in a peaceful clearing of Old Field Preserve. Dedicating focus to each of the five senses, especially while outdoors, will help participants unify and balance their energy with the natural world. It's a great way to unplug from the world and recharge for an hour.
This program is limited to 12 attendees and will be led by Catherine Downs, Reiki Master Teacher, of Reiki 4 All Inc. We recommend wearing sturdy shoes and appropriate layers. There are a few benches available in the garden, but attendees can also bring something to sit on — a blanket, cushion, beach chair, camp chair — or any other props for additional comfort during the seated meditation. Steady rain, snow, dangerous wind, and "feels like" temps below 25℉ will reschedule.

Free Fern Weekend
Free Fern Weekend - Saturday, September 30th and Sunday, October 1st, from 10am-12pm each day at Old Field Preserve
Come to the Old Field Meditation Garden on Sept. 30/Oct. 1 and dig up some of our free gorgeous Ostrich ferns for your own property.
Every two years, we need to thin out our fern beds because the ferns grow so profusely. These are beautiful healthy ferns and they will thrive in your garden. In addition, our fern beds will thrive also because they are no longer crowded. So it's a win/win — and we thank you for helping!
There will be a kickoff educational component on Saturday at 10am led by LLT's education specialist, Deanna Novak, but feel free to come anytime between 10am -12pm on either or both days. Bring clippers to cut the fronds down and a shovel to dig up the roots. Bring a bucket or plastic trash bag to transport the plants home. We have so many, you can probably take as many as you want.
And please tell your family, friends and neighbors!
Sturdy shoes, pants, and gloves are recommended. Refreshments will be served. Steady rain will reschedule. Advance registration is appreciated so we can plan for refreshments and communicate any changes with you, but is no longer required.

We will meet in the field by the community garden behind the farmhouse and begin the program with an introduction and creative inspiration before we break into small groups for some hands-on planting together.
Steady rain will move the event to the following day, Sunday, May 21, 2023 at the same time. Rain on both days will reschedule for the soonest possible date. This event is best suited for ages 5 and up. Sorry, we do not recommend bringing dogs to this event.
Advance registration is required at the link below so that we can plan for supplies and volunteers. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/pollinator-garden-workshop-tickets-635968608227
This will be a good program for anyone with limited mobility as there isn't much walking and other accommodations can be made. PLEASE CONTACT US FOR ANY SPECIAL REQUESTS OR CIRCUMSTANCES.

Mother's Day Ladies-Only Hike
Mother’s Day Ladies Only Hike - Sunday, May 14th from 11am-12:30pm, Marian Yarrow Preserve
After enjoying breakfast in bed (hopefully!), we invite all moms (and other ladies) to ditch the family for a couple of hours and join us for a brisk social hike along the large loop of the preserve, passing through wooded forest, wetlands, along a stream, and by the hidden lake. All ladies (regardless of motherhood status) are welcome, as well as babies under 2 in carriers and friendly dogs on leash. Refreshments will be served and flowering plants given out at the end.
This hike is rated moderate and will be about 1.5-2 miles. Sturdy, mud-resistant shoes are recommended. Steady rain and other inclement weather will cancel.
Advance registration is appreciated so we can plan for enough volunteers and refreshments.

Historic Hamlet Hunt
The Lewisboro Library is hosting the Historic Hamlet Hunt on Sunday, May 7 from 12 to 4 pm, and our Marian Yarrow Preserve is on it! The last Hunt, back in 2020, was a very popular community event and sold out quickly! It begins with a check–in at the Library anytime between noon and 2 pm. There you will pick up a booklet with directions that will take you on a scenic driving tour of Lewisboro, learning the history of 12 iconic architectural and natural treasures of the town. This family-friendly community event is a fundraiser for the Library. The cost is $30 per car.
