September Preschool Meadow Hike

We are excited to see our preschool friends again for a new season of nature adventures and learning. In September we will explore the meadow, look for butterflies, and go for a nature walk through the shrubland and woodlands at Old Field Preserve in Waccabuc.

Our free monthly preschool hikes are designed to provide opportunities to learn about nature and socialize in a loosely-structured environment. This program will be led by LLT’s early-education specialist, Deanna Novak, and is recommended for ages 3-5 years, but all ages are welcome. Sturdy shoes, water, hats, and bug spray are recommended. Steady rain and other inclement weather cancels.

The entrance to Old Field Preserve is on Mead Street -- just north of Rte. 35 -- at the intersection of Schoolhouse Rd. in Waccabuc. There is plenty of parking in the preserve and on the side of the preserve driveway.
