Animal Tracks Educational Program

  • Old Field Preserve Mead Street at intersectionof Schoolhouse Road Waccabuc, NY 10597 United States (map)

Naturalist Eric Stone will teach tracking animal activity in winter, revealing what happens in the woods around us when no one is watching.

In this exciting educational program, Eric Stone, founder of The Rewilding School, will teach us how to track animals in winter. The quiet winter forest will come alive as you learn how to “read” traces of activity found in the preserve that reveal what animals are up to when people aren’t around. Reading these signs opens up a world of understanding to the critters we catch fleeting glimpses of, but otherwise go undetected through our neighborhood.

This family educational program is recommended for ages 5+, but all ages are welcome. Warm layers and sturdy shoes are recommended. We kindly ask that dogs stay home for this program. Steady rain and other inclement weather will cancel.

Space is limited so advance registration is requested so we can plan for volunteers and inform you of any updates.
