This program allows toddlers to walk at their own pace, stopping to explore along the way. September is when the meadow will be full of insects and butterflies to observe, and Old Field Preserve is a wonderful location to return to often and observe the changes in the landscape, fostering a keen awareness of seasons and the cycles of nature. This program will be led by LLT”s nature education specialist Deanna Novak who specializes in this age group. While designed for ages 1-3 years old, all ages are welcome.
Sturdy shoes, pants, and layers are recommended. Heavy rain and other inclement weather will cancel (we will still hike in light rain). The entrance to Old Field Preserve is on the East side of Mead Street (at the intersection of Schoolhouse Road) in Waccabuc. There's plenty of parking in the preserve and on the side of the preserve driveway.
Advance registration at the link below is appreciated so we can plan for volunteers and communicate any changes with you, but is no longer required.
