Toddlers can socialize while exploring the natural world that changes with each season.
This program allows toddlers to walk at their own pace, stopping to explore along the way. Each month, participants can observe the changes they see in the landscape, fostering a keen awareness of seasons and the cycles of nature. January is a time of calm in the preserve, and it's a great time to observe birds who spend the winter searching for food in the meadow. Sturdy shoes and layers are recommended. Heavy rain and other inclement weather will cancel (we will still hike in light rain).
The entrance to Old Field Preserve is on the East side of Mead Street (at the intersection of Schoolhouse Road) in Waccabuc. There's plenty of parking in the preserve and on the side of the preserve driveway.
