Paint with Nature All Ages Program - Saturday, July 9th, 10am-12pm at Old Field Preserve in Waccabuc
Create one-of-a-kind paintings and sun prints using objects found in nature!
This program will start with a hike along the Nature Trail to gather materials (please bring a basket or bucket). We will finish at the meditation garden where local artist and art educator, Jessica Soininen-Eddis, will guide participants in creating their own set of paint brushes and work of art. We will also have sheets of sun paper (aka cyanotype photograph paper) for each participant to create a sunlight print of natural objects. Everyone will also have an opportunity to contribute to a large-scale mural painting that will be displayed somewhere in town.
All ages are welcome. Supplies will be provided and refreshments will be served. Sturdy shoes, long pants and hats are recommended. Inclement weather date will be the following day, Sunday, July 10th at 10am.
Note: walking the full loop is not required, so this is a great program for anyone with limited mobility.
The entrance to Old Field Preserve is on the East side of Mead Street (at the intersection of Schoolhouse Road) in Waccabuc. There's plenty of parking in the preserve and on the side of the preserve driveway.
Space is limited, so advance registration is required at the link below so we can plan for volunteers and communicate any changes with you. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/paint-with-nature-tickets-370585981647
