Fall Mushroom Educational Hike
This program will provide a thorough introduction to mushrooms and the role fungi play in the ecosystem. Local naturalist and mushroom aficionado Taro Ietaka, former president of the Connecticut-Westchester Mycological Association (COMA), will teach basic identification skills, offer tips on what mushrooms can be found at this time of year, and discuss the numerous and varied uses of mushrooms.
The hike is rated easy and program content is recommended for ages 5 & up. Sturdy shoes and layers are recommended. Friendly dogs on leash are allowed. Steady rain and other inclement weather cancels.
Pre-registration is required with 2 ticket options: with headset or without. Register here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/mushroom-educational-hike-tickets-186289917157
