“See You in September”
Join naturalist Jeff Main at PELL HILL for a guided 4-mile hike to Raven Rocks and the site of the former fire tower. Jeff's hikes are a wonderful opportunity to learn about the environment around us while getting in a long hike for health, and for September he will discuss the effects of the recent drought. Come just for the morning, or pack a lunch to enjoy a picnic at one of the many areas in the park. This hike is rated moderate due to uneven terrain and length. Please wear sturdy shoes and pack water and snacks. Friendly dogs on leash are welcome.
Registration is not required. If you have any questions, please call the park office at 914-864-7317. Steady rain and other inclement weather will reschedule or cancel. Any location change or updates will be posted on the whiteboard at the entry gate. Entry fee will be waived for this event upon mention that you learned about it from Lewisboro Land Trust. However, we do encourage you to support the park by becoming a member at Trailside Nature Museum because membership at the “Turtle” level receives free vehicle entrance to the Reservation throughout the year, and the funds directly benefit the park.
The entrance to Ward Pound Ridge Reservation is off Route 121/Old Post Rd., just south of Route 35. After passing the gatehouse, keep driving straight to the stop sign at the Trailside Nature Museum, turn right and go to the top of Pell Hill where there is a large parking lot on left. PLEASE ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO GET INTO THE PARK!
