Fern Division Workday at the Meditation Garden - Sunday, October 3, 10am-12pm at Old Field Preserve
Please join us to manage the Ostrich ferns at LLT’s Meditation Garden in Old Field Preserve that have grown too abundant. This will be a working session, but there will be an educational component to it with nature educator and fern enthusiast, Deanna Novak, who will teach us about the benefits of using ferns in gardens and landscaping. Participants will be able to take home ferns to plant at their own properties.
We will begin at 10am, but feel free to come at whatever time works best for you between 10am-12pm. Sturdy shoes, pants, and gloves are recommended. Also bring your own shovel or hand shovel and a container for your ferns. Refreshments will be served. Steady rain will reschedule for the following Sunday, October 10th at the same time.
The entrance to Old Field Preserve is on the East side of Mead Street (at the intersection of Schoolhouse Road) in Waccabuc. Parking in the preserve is at the end of the driveway.
Advance registration is appreciated so we can plan for refreshments and communicate any changes with you, but is no longer required. Register here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/fern-division-volunteer-session-tickets-178850435467
