Saturday, November 21 from 2-4pm at Onatru Farm Park and Reservation (Rain date next day): Let’s gather to make one-of-a-kind creations to decorate our homes and tables with just in time for Thanksgiving! This exciting, artistic program, led by artist Sarah Saunders, invites participants to engage with nature in new, imaginative ways. We will begin the program with a hike through the meadow and trails of the East Loop at Onatru to gather bits of nature we each find beautiful. Then we will gather at tables in the field by the farm house to produce our arrangements or wreaths.
Due to COVID-19 and expected attendance, please plan to BYO (bring your own) pruning shears, scissors, bucket or basket for collecting cuttings on the hike, vase or wreath frame, and any other embellishments you may want to use in your creation. We will supply pre-cut floral wire and have a limited amount of tools for use. We will have pre-made vine wreaths and recycled vases available for participants for a suggested $5 donation.
Sarah Saunders is a Manhattan-based floral artist who grew up in New Canaan, CT. To learn more, visit her website.
Steady rain will move the event to the following day, Sunday, November 22 at the same time. Rain on both days will cancel the program. This event is best suited for ages 7 and up. Sorry, we do not recommend bringing dogs to this event. Sturdy shoes, good for muddy conditions, are recommended.
Advance registration is required and limited to 45 participants. REGISTER HERE. Please remember to cancel or inform us if you’re unable to make it as we expect to have a waitlist for this event.
