Fall Foraged Art Program

  • Ward Pound Ridge Reservation Route 121 Cross River, NY 10518 United States (map)

Fall Foraged Art Program - Sunday, October 23 — “drop in” from 2-4pm at Shelter 5 in Ward Pound Ridge Reservation

Lewisboro Land Trust is teaming up with Shannon McDonough, artist and founder of The Smokestack, to offer this free for all-ages and all-abilities outdoor art program designed to use items found in nature to create one-of-a-kind pumpkin decorations. Craft supplies will be provided as well as small pumpkins. Or, feel free to bring your own larger pumpkin(s), vase and/or wreath to let your creativity go wild, both figuratively and literally! Please note, we will NOT be carving pumpkins.

Walking is not required for this program, so we invite anyone with limited mobility to join us as special parking accommodations are available. A short hike will be offered, but is optional. There's plenty around the field in front of shelter 5 to gather materials from, and we will have some pre-gathered at the tables.

Space is limited, so registration is required at the link below and please print your ticket to show at the gate for free park entry. This is a drop in program, so come anytime between 2-4pm.

Please dress in warm layers and sturdy shoes. Friendly dogs on leash are welcome. Light refreshments will be served. Steady rain and other inclement weather cancels.

Ward Pound Ridge Reservation’s entrance is off of Route 121/Old Post Rd., just south of Route 35 in South Salem. After passing the gatehouse, take the first right onto Michigan road and keep driving straight to the end. Parking will be to the left up the hill. Anyone with limited mobility will be allowed to drive directly to the shelter. PLEASE ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO GET INTO THE PARK!
