Our monthly toddler hikes resume this coming Friday, September 16th from 9:30am until 10:30am at Old Field Preserve in Waccabuc. For the 2022-23 cycle, we will lead toddler hikes on Fridays that fall in the middle of the month, and we have moved the start time up to 9:30am to accommodate morning nappers.

This program allows toddlers to walk at their own pace, stopping to explore along the way. September is when the meadow will be full of insects and butterflies to observe. We will return many times to Old Field Preserve to observe the changes in the landscape, fostering a keen awareness of seasons and the cycles of nature. Sturdy shoes, pants, and layers are recommended. Heavy rain and other inclement weather will cancel (we will still hike in light rain).

The entrance to Old Field Preserve is on the East side of Mead Street (at the intersection of Schoolhouse Road) in Waccabuc. There's plenty of parking in the preserve and on the side of the preserve driveway.

Advance registration is appreciated so we can plan for volunteers and communicate any changes with you), but is no longer required.
