Pollinator Garden Workshop

  • Onatru Farm 99 Elmwood Road South Salem, NY, 10590 United States (map)

Learn about different pollinator plants and how to create a garden of any size that will help wildlife flourish!

Pollinator plants provide valuable sources of food and shelter for wildlife. At this garden workshop, local nature educator Deanna Novak will teach us about the different plants and provide recommendations that will inform the creation of your own one-of-a-kind pollinator garden. A variety of seedlings and seeds will be provided, with a focus on native plants that are especially beneficial. We recommend bringing your own containers, but we will also have some available. Please bring your own gloves. Hats and sunscreen are also recommended.

We will meet in the field by the community garden behind the farmhouse and begin the program with an introduction and creative inspiration before we break into small groups for some hands-on planting together.

Steady rain will move the event to the following day, Sunday, May 21, 2023 at the same time. Rain on both days will reschedule for the soonest possible date. This event is best suited for ages 5 and up. Sorry, we do not recommend bringing dogs to this event.

Advance registration is required at the link below so that we can plan for supplies and volunteers. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/pollinator-garden-workshop-tickets-635968608227

This will be a good program for anyone with limited mobility as there isn't much walking and other accommodations can be made. PLEASE CONTACT US FOR ANY SPECIAL REQUESTS OR CIRCUMSTANCES.

Onatru Farm Park is located at 99 Elmwood Rd. in South Salem. We will meet in the field by the community garden, so park as close to the farmhouse as possible. We will have signs directing you.
