Meet naturalist Jeff Main at the Michigan Road parking area for a moderate 4-mile hike into the woodlands of the southern area of the reservation, and visit a large vernal pool to discover early spring amphibian activity and learn about their ecological importance.
Please wear sturdy, mud-resistant shoes. Friendly dogs on leash are welcome.
Registration is not required. If you have any questions, please call the park office at 914-864-7317. Steady rain and other inclement weather will reschedule or cancel. Any location change or updates will be posted on the whiteboard at the entry gate.
Ward Pound Ridge Reservation’s entrance is off of Route 121/Old Post Rd., just south of Route 35. After passing the gatehouse, take the first right turn onto Michigan Road. Proceed to the end of the road where we will meet at the parking lot.
