Annual First Day Family Hikes - Saturday, January 1st - 11am AND 11:30am, Mount Holly Preserve
Get a healthy start to 2022 by getting outside with Lewisboro Land Trust for a brisk hike with your neighbors at Mount Holly Preserve. We are offering two small group hikes at 11am & 11:30am as part of Lewisboro’s “First Day” festivities. Delicious hot cocoa will be served by Boy Scout Troop 1. Mt. Holly Preserve is over 50 acres with 1.5 miles of trails. Highlights include the Indian Brook, which flows along the eastern boundary south to the Cross River Reservoir, and large outcrops of cliffs made of 6-million-year-old Fordham gneiss.
This hike is rated moderate and will take about 45 minutes. All ages and friendly dogs on leash are welcome (a carry option is recommended for kids under 5). Sturdy shoes and warm layers are recommended. Steady rain or other inclement weather will cancel.
