We will kick off the new year with our Annual Hike on Sunday morning, January 1st, from 11:00-12:15 at the Mt. Holly Preserve, on Mt. Holly Road East, Katonah (diagonally across from #21). Once again, Lewisboro Boy Scout Troop 1 will provide the refreshments, and the preserve steward, Paul Collura will lead the hike. We hope you will join us!!
Highlights include the Indian Brook, which flows along the eastern boundary south to the Cross River Reservoir, and large outcrops of cliffs made of 6-million-year-old Fordham gneiss. Hot chocolate will be served at by Lewisboro Boy Scout Troop 1.
This hike is rated moderate and will take about 45 minutes. All ages and friendly dogs on leash are welcome (a carry option is recommended for kids under 5). Sturdy shoes and warm layers are recommended. Steady rain or other inclement weather will cancel.
