Naturalist's Choice Program with Jim Nordgren - Saturday, September 26th (27th rain date), 2026, 10:00am - 11:30am at Leon Levy Preserve
Join naturalist Jim Nordgren for an interpretive hike at the lovely Leon Levy Preserve.
On this walk through lush Leon Levy we will learn all about what's blooming, fruiting, and changing for our forests at this time of year as the summer ends and autumn begins. Our naturalist, Jim Nordgren, is an environmental consultant. As Lewisboro’s former Town Supervisor, he collaborated with Pound Ridge and North Salem to create legislation of the 2,000-acre Eastern Westchester Biotic Corridor. He has also served as Executive Director of the Bedford Audubon Society and the Northeast Wilderness Trust, and holds a Master's in Environmental Management from Yale.
This program is appropriate for people aged 7 plus for uneven terrain and pace. For younger children a carry option is recommended. Additionally, we recommend sturdy shoes, appropriate layers, hats, and water for this program. In case of heavy rain or other inclement weather this event will cancel. We will hike in light rain.
